When something bad happens: True is it that we have seen better days.
When something REALLY...
Leave your ego at the door.
Are you sometimes overwhelmed with feelings of hopelessness?
What is the point of it all? I am a bad person? I am unlovable? I am not forgivable?
Turn to the Lord, He is our saviour. He knows how hopeless and full of sin we were and thats why he sacraficed His beloved son Jesus for us.
There IS a point to it all, maybe some days we can’t see it…. but we are not God, God sees it…. Gods wisdom is far greater than anything our earthly minds could ever comprehend!
Please don’t right off God/Jesus/Christianity as uncool, or of no help to you…… GOD LOVES YOU, this is not just a meaningless ‘catch phrase’ that Christians use…it is the TRUTH!!
It doesn’t matter how terrible the things are that you have done, you are NOT unforgivable!!
Don’t be hopeless….. there IS hope. Jesus is the answer.
If you have doubts about that… find an answer to your doubts… don’t remain idle..
Something that has really helped me is listening to podcasts…. and the One that I like the best is Timothy Keller… he has answered many questions i have had…. but there are many others to chose from if you don’t like TK…. John Piper, Mosaic, William Lane Craig etc (i am not an expert on all that is available)
Research, ask questions, pray, do whatever!!!!
Please realise you are not hopeless, start trying to find out about Jesus TODAY!
I am not a teacher, I am not a pastor, I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t know a huge amount about anything.
I used to have lots of doubts, lots of sin, and lots of questions.
But I did find the answer and I know that there is hope…. and that Jesus is the son of God and that He is my saviour, and he wants to be yours to.
Please know that YOU are loved.
Psalm 130
From the depths of despair, O Lord,
I called for your help.
Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer.
Lord, if you kept a record of our sins,
who, O Lord, could ever survive?
But you offer forgiveness,
that we might learn to fear you.
I am counting on the Lord;
yes, I am counting on Him.
I have put my hope in His word,
I long for the Lord
more than sentries long for the dawn,
yes more than sentries long for the dawn.
O Israel, hope in the Lord;
for with the Lord there is unfailing love
and an overflowing supply of salvation.
He himself will free Israel
frome every kind of sin.
“To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been told to you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. JOHN 14:27
Any peace that can be produced by humans is very fragile. It can be destroyed instantly by failure, doubt, fear, difficulty, guilt, shame, distress, regret, sorrow, the anxiety of making a wrong choice, the anticipation of being mistreated or victimised by someone, the uncertainty of the future, and any challenge to our position or possessions. And we experience these things daily.
The peace that God gives is not subject to the vicissitudes of life. It is a spiritual peace; it is an attitude of the heart and mind when we believe and thus know deep down that all is well between ourselves and God. Along with it is the assurance that He is lovingly in control of everything. We as Christians should know for sure that our sins are forgiven, that God is concerned with our well-being, and that heaven is our destiny. God’s peace is our possession and priviledge by divine right.
